Tier Changes

Postby Mew » 25 May 2010, 14:49

Since there have been some important tier changes lately, I thought I'd make a topic about it so we can discuss them.

So, here we go.

I never used(or faced) that thing and I never actually had problems with any dragon(yeah, I am lucky, I know). Was it really that dangerous?

Well, whatever. What do you think? Will it still be necessary to carry around two steels in each team?
I mean, the only dragon with huge offensive stats AND Dragon Dance out there is now Salamence, as Dragonite isn´t that popular(although I think it would be more dangerous than Salamence with its quite good bulkyness and access to SD) and Flygon has only 328 max Atk(with +Atk nature, which no one uses) and no DD/SD.

Flygon is useful for its important weaknesses. I use him myself with quite a succes. I use a LO one, and everyone thinks it's scarfed, which is good for me. Enough about Flygon, back to Latias.

This is quite important, now there's one very bulky dragon less..

I have never used one, and never faced one. It could be because I not battle that much with competetive players, and can´t get Latias without using pokesav.

i think it´s a shame Latias has been moved to the Uber tier, as I found it quite adorable and wanted to use one myself, but if smogon means Latias is Uber, then it must be Uber. There might be some people out there, who means that Latias should stay in OU, but it´s been moved, and let us see what happens.

Generally, we could make our own tier-list, and thus not "have" to go by whatever smogon says. If many people are against the uberness of Latias, I guess we could just keep it OU(Maybe call it something else for minor originality) if we wanted. Then we'd just have to discuss every single pokémon, and also somehow keep track of, what is used the most in comp battles around the globe. Or really, just in Europe. We could have scouts from different countries ^^
Just swinging out stuff now, gimme' ya' thoughts. :3 Lolz.

I agree with you, but o the other hand I don't think we have enough members (yet) with sufficient knowledge about the metagame and how each Pokemon influences it.

I also think an own tier list would be great =/ Why not just try it out? Maybe we have enough users who know what they´re talking about? I don´t think it would hurt.
Also, we could then stop discussing smogon stuff that has already been decided(I don´t really see the point in this as in most german forums I browse through, it´s just like: "This sucks" or "this is great") Creating UEPC also had the reason to create a European CP community and not some smogon "remake".
But oh well... let´s talk about Latias for the sake of getting back to topic =D

Again my question(as I didn´t really get an answer): Is it still necessary to carry around at least two steels? One of the dragons is down after all.

You could, if you like. There still are plenty of dragons in OU, so you have to think about it when building a team.

Salamence is Uber! This is going to affect the current metagame so much...
