Are you serious? More new posts make the forum attractive for people. Not many people want to join a forum that is not active. There are registered people that come sometimes here but see "oh nothing has happened" and then they don't post and come again after a few months and this keeps happening until they give up on the forum.
Of course "good" posts are better. But when there are no posts, it is more important to get
some posts. You can't be so picky in this situation.
Also, I support activating post count for the Wi-Fi forums. (Some people would get their postcount from 0 => 20 or so. Even that motivates some people. People are different... believe me.)
This concept is way too good to let it die.
Even tho Ray makes couple good points, worst of them is to fill the forum with spams because "that's how we get activity". Flyfunner has made very good clear up why this way would not be effective, and I would rather see forum less active than active with spamposts.
We are not trying to create another forum filled with spams. It does make difference if the forum is just filled with spams or with actual conversations. If we don't have active users, that means we are doing something wrong, calling in all the spammers is not a solution to anything, only solution is to come up with something actually interesting. Forum might get just a bit more active, which we cannot know, and if it works, it would not be productive as Flyfunner pointed out.
Now let me ask this, what if idea was tried out and UEPC would start filling up with spams, what would those actually interested people think about forum that is already filling up with spamposts?
And to make a note, I don't think just giving some posting ranks would actually make people wanna start using UEPC aside their national forums. Maybe 3 out of 10 would actually be interested about them.
I do agree that maybe it would be good to support postcount on wi-fi forums, but I'm still not agreeing with the post count title issue. It would be totally pointless. Flyfunner and christos21 made perfectly good points regarding this, so unless someone comes up with actually good reasons, I think this topic is dealt for now. Idea is not bad but neither productive nor functional at this point. We could see this again, after we get some active users.
