So, you want to be an Encyclopaediae Pokémonis member?

Encyclopaediae Pokémonis, Latin for Encyclopedias of Pokémon, is a multilingual, open-content Pokémon encyclopedia project. Current members include Bulbagarden's Bulbapedia, Filb's PokéWiki and Pokémon Polska's Wikinezka.

Currently, we cover English, German, Japanese, Polish, French, Portugese, and Spanish language Pokémon fans. An Italian wiki has recently had its application approved as well, and is in the process of being integrated. But we're not satisfied. We want more. ;)

This is where everyone here comes in. We would much prefer to partner with communities who are not only fandom stalwarts, but who have demonstrated a willingness to co-operate and interact with other sites in the fandom. So really, anyone in the UEPC has everything we could possibly hope for in a new wiki partner. ;)

We do have a limit on one wiki per language, however there's no need to make things a contest between all the sites covering one language. Our friends at Zeldawiki.org for instance (part of our Niwanetwork.org organisation) are operated jointly by a panel of prominent sites in their fandom. There's no reason that several Dutch sites for instance couldn't pool their resources to put together one wiki.

As a general rule of thumb, to be considered for membership a wiki should have at least 1000 articles, including non-stub articles on all the Pokémon, all of the games, and all the main and supporting characters of the games and anime. It sounds like a lot, but it's actually a lot easier than you might expect, especially when you've got a community rallying around to help. A number of staff from Bulbapedia and other wikis will be happy to help with some of the process of getting up to speed as well, particularly with templates, etc.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact either myself, TTEchidna (Bulbapedia Editor-in-Chief), or any of our staff.

We start 3 years ago, previously using MediaWiki. Due to some technology and performance issues that our previous hosting had, we began to refactor and write our own program in early 2009. Since then, 神奇宝贝百科 grew fast, and now have articles about all (until Generation IV) Pokémon, Moves, Abilities, and dozens of articles about characters, locations and other Pokémon-meta.

As we moved into a VPS server in Fremont this summer, we have much better resource and performance than before, we're also switching back to MediaWiki.

Our superiority comparing to other alternatives:
* We choose our Creative Commons license at an early time, and now all articles in 神奇宝贝百科 are covered under Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 ugg boots Unported license, which is compatible with Bulbapedia and several other Pokémon wiki.

* We have a Standard (provided below) about translation of Pokémon terms, and we fully uses official Chinese(Mardarin) names of Pokémon, Moves, Characters, Abilities, Locations, etc.

* We have already more than 1600 articles and growing, covering all Pokémon, Moves, Abilities of Generation I to Generation IV, ugg stiefel as well as all Items in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.

* 52Poke.com is a outstanding Pokémon news sites in Chinese community, often refer as the most reliable news source by Chinese fans.

:o ...I don't know who copied my post on Bulbagarden (and put some non-related spam links?) here. But I'm swam260 on Bulbagarden, as well as the admin of 神奇宝贝百科. And today is the first time I found this post.

We will enrich the articles of every games after we finish our Black & White Pokémon/Moves/Abilities coverage.

Thanks a lot for the great templates on Bulbapedia :D .
