Currently, we cover English, German, Japanese, Polish, French, Portugese, and Spanish language Pokémon fans. An Italian wiki has recently had its application approved as well, and is in the process of being integrated. But we're not satisfied. We want more.
This is where everyone here comes in. We would much prefer to partner with communities who are not only fandom stalwarts, but who have demonstrated a willingness to co-operate and interact with other sites in the fandom. So really, anyone in the UEPC has everything we could possibly hope for in a new wiki partner.
We do have a limit on one wiki per language, however there's no need to make things a contest between all the sites covering one language. Our friends at Zeldawiki.org for instance (part of our Niwanetwork.org organisation) are operated jointly by a panel of prominent sites in their fandom. There's no reason that several Dutch sites for instance couldn't pool their resources to put together one wiki.
As a general rule of thumb, to be considered for membership a wiki should have at least 1000 articles, including non-stub articles on all the Pokémon, all of the games, and all the main and supporting characters of the games and anime. It sounds like a lot, but it's actually a lot easier than you might expect, especially when you've got a community rallying around to help. A number of staff from Bulbapedia and other wikis will be happy to help with some of the process of getting up to speed as well, particularly with templates, etc.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact either myself, TTEchidna (Bulbapedia Editor-in-Chief), or any of our staff.
